Glengoyne has announced a festive takeover of its distillery shop – with the brand offering personal shopping and gift wrapping for visitors in the lead up to Christmas.

While the distillery’s world-renowned tasting experiences can’t take place, locals from surrounding towns are still being welcomed to the Glengoyne Distillery - nestled halfway between Glasgow and Stirling, in the foot of the Campsie Hills – to enjoy a festive shopping experience, while taking in the picturesque surroundings.

Glengoyne’s on-site shop will offer the distillery’s newly rebranded collection, in all its sustainable glory, including the new Legacy Series: Chapter Two and Cask Strength Batch No. 008. Also available to purchase will be the brand’s new Christmas gift sets which celebrate its status as Scotland’s slowest distilled malt.

The ‘Time Capsule’ gives consumers the chance to explore three examples of this highly coveted spirit, including the award-winning 12 Year Old and 18 Year Old core expressions, as well as the new Legacy Series: Chapter Two. Each gift set comes with three bottles and is available in 5cl or 20cl sizes.

While Glengoyne’s ‘Time Keeper’ gift set focusses in on the brand’s sweet and zesty 12 Year Old expression. A 70cl bottle of this much-loved malt comes alongside a tasting booklet and branded nosing glass – creating the perfect tasting moment.

In further news sure to lift spirits, Glengoyne’s store will also host its sister brands in a series of seasonal pop-ups - with Edinburgh Gin, Tamdhu, Smokehead, and Langs Jamaican Rum all available to buy. Edinburgh Gin fans will be able to get their hands on their brand-new Storybook giftpacks. Bound in a luxurious book casing with art deco cues, and featuring the brand’s award-winning range of gins, the Storybooks are an exquisite addition to any home bar or bookcase.

Expert distillery staff will also be on hand to provide a personal shopping experience across all of the brands on offer, truly making this a one-stop-Christmas-shop.

Stuart Hendry, Brand Homes Director at Ian Macleod Distillers, said:

“In line with other alcohol retailers, Glengoyne will continue to trade as a provider of essential products. Locals who are able to shop with us at this time can rely on robust procedures to ensure their safety, as well as a festive shopping experience like no other.

“With our new Glengoyne Fine and Rare range, gorgeous bottle wrapping, a personal shopping service and the chance to see amazing pop-ups from amazing brands including Edinburgh Gin (with its gifting range that really will fill your loved ones with wonder), our expert team are on hand to cater for all of your needs.

“We really do have Christmas wrapped up.”

For those further afield who are unable to experience the splendour of the Glengoyne Distillery right now, or who are looking for a bit of lockdown entertainment at home, the brand has brought back its hugely popular online tastings, which proved to be a great source of joy for whisky fans this year.

These intimate tastings are truly special. Participants are led through four incredible malts by one of Glengoyne’s globally renowned Distillery Ambassadors, giving them a chance to learn more about their favourite range while enjoying a dram from a special tasting kit, sent to their home in advance.

Glengoyne’s online tasting experience will cost £35 and features some of the brand’s most beloved, award-winning, single malts, including: Glengoyne 10 Year Old, 12 Year Old, 18 Year Old, a special mystery dram that will be revealed during the session, and a branded glass to truly make the perfect pour.

Participants can sign up to a tasting and receive their online tasting kits now from Glengoyne’s website.
